Why solar systems are profitable:

Currently in most European countries, it is the national feed-in tariffs – fixed for 20 to 25 years – that make investments in solar systems secure and profitable. Additionally, since local solar irradiation is relatively constant and – in contrast to wind volume – can be calculated more precisely, investors can expect stable returns from solar systems. Furthermore, the rapid fall in the prices of photovoltaic systems reduces the initial costs. In future therefore, photovoltaics will be profitable even without subsidies.

The Swiss bank Sarasin forecasts a strong growth for the future market Photovoltaics, with a newly installed annual output of 35 % on average.
